These vehicles are a risk to everyone, especially children. They are too large, lethally designed and have a huge environmental impact. Regulations in UK and EU have to urgently be updated to stop more of these being driven on our roads.
Dodge is launching a right-hand drive model of a car so tall that drivers can’t see young children in front of them
We see a lot of those here in the states. I hate them. The vast majority of them are not even used as trucks - but as some macho status symbol. 🤮
The Ram 1500 has a bonnet height of 126cm compared with 70cm for a Renault Clio. “…for every 10cm increase in bonnet height, the probability of death for pedestrians aged 18 to 65 increases by 22 per cent. This proportion rises to 31 per cent for over-65s and 81 per cent for children”
As an American surrounded by tons of unwashed assholes who drive these stupid things, fight to ban them
As an American who has driven down British side roads, the geometry of a full sized pickup truck in the environment does not seem possible. No side mirrors would survive.
Is it the trucks that are aggressive or the drivers?
Be swift! They’re all over the place in Canada lately. I refuse to cross in front of one of them unless it’s crystal clear the driver has seen me.
And headlights are so high they blind oncoming drivers.
NotJustBikes vid is very good. Not a big fan of the Times but nice to see them raise it youtu.be/jN7mSXMruEo?...
Not even useful as working vehicles in UK; who carries stuff in an uncovered truck in rainy UK. The Mid-west perhaps (and I dont mean Wiltshire)
