I think this is true for many things that take skill, practice and critique. I've encountered that when it comes to my cooking. As my skills have improved, I see my flaws. Add in being exposed to better versions of the things I make, I'll get hyper critical of everything.

Even when others think my food is great, I cannot see beyond what's wrong. In time, I'll find a new balance with refined skills and I'll be happy...for a while. And that is just cooking. Part of why I have such deep respect for the creators. I imagine how much you pour over all that they do.
