To be clear, this is a gravely mistaken impression. Kondo seems to have the understanding that if AI does a first pass at a translation, that will be less work for localization. The problem is that since you can never trust the output for accuracy, for a game like Trails it's *more* work in the end.

this is the same exact problem companies keep creating for themselves, it's the same as when Disney forced animators to trace old animations to save time and it took longer than making something new

Ughhhhh. - Falcom is considering using AI translation with their games - The thought process is if AI does a first pass, with corrections later, localizations could take less time - They hope if they leverage AI they could get translations down to 6mos or same day www.4gamer.net/games/999/G9...
