I just watched the whole first episode of El Secreto del Río (The Secret of the River) with my roommates, with Spanish captions. I’m pleased with myself that I was understanding maybe 75% of what was being said! Not bad for someone who’s not used to reading quickly in español!

Not only is giving more XP for listening exercises in @duolingoverde.bsky.social than reading ones ableist, forcing one of the daily quests to be a speaking exercise is extra annoying and ableist to a wide range of people. Please stop putting auditory things on a higher pedestal.

Job applications are not friendly to people who are freelancers/contract workers. I didn’t “leave” the job, I just worked with them once or have a recurring gig. Also, as an interpreter, my job is supposed to be confidential, so how does that work for sharing who my employer is??
