TTRPG Tip 51. The combat pillar of D&D and its clones is the most important pillar. Why? Because the game tells us that by having many more pages and rules about combat and few about the other pillars. Where you focus the game loops and the transition from game to story is what your game is about.

This is low key why Ive been more interested in games that make their pillars more important. Lancer with making it's combat be more interesting and reserve preparation and RP being less rules heavy and making the DM think background vs stats for RP.
