In #mathstoday I got to introduce one of my favourite topics - complex numbers. Then we got to realise the denominator. Which I love doing

I love it best for all the puns around the word realise. "I need to tell you that your answer's not in the correct form; I'm sure you didn't realise" etc

I love pointing out when further maths is literally taking something from maths and going further (like with realising the denominator using ideas from surds) Today we were doing complex roots of cubics and quartics, which builds on what they've just done in maths.
