Marston's remedy was to combine the strength of superman with the "allure of a good and beautiful woman," and then give her a lasso to force her antagonists to submit. The man couldn't have been more unsubtle if he'd put his intentions up in neon lights.

Now, to be clear, Marston's views on women were an interesting mix of 1940's patriarchy and some radically progressive views about the capacity of women to transform the world. The man was not a saint, and we shouldn't laud him as one. But he was well ahead of his peers.
