Made a big mistake at work and am now at risk of some serious repercussions -_- my boss says she and her boss don’t think I should get in trouble and, at the meeting about it this Thursday or next Tuesday, says she’s gonna fight to make sure I don’t. But now I’m worried I’m on borrowed time…
As a middle management type, if I was in their shoes, I wouldn’t give you those assurances unless they were ironclad. I think you’ll be good. No one is in super duper trouble when it’s dependent on a meeting that might happen as late as next week. Keep the faith.
Everyone is human, everyone makes mistakes. A good manager will know that. The only time I consider letting someone go is if they continually make the same mistake(s) over and over, even after intervention and additional training. It sucks you have to wait. Hang in there, I’m sure it will be fine.
Don’t kill the customers, Josh! We’ve been over this! (I’m sorry you’re in a nerve wracking position. But I’m optimistic no one would have said you’d be ok unless they believed it)
Damn. I’m sorry. Hopefully you’re good and everything turns out okay.
