And the need to be surrounded by perfect mirrors - to find people who are only unconsciously complicit in oppressions in the exact same areas that I am. Totally impossible in systems that require complicity to survive.

and of course there is a continuum to this - where the extreme looks like the Mormon cults, but even within mainstream culture there are vestiges.
