i respect the hummingbirds fighting over their feeder so much. it’s like if a guy stood around a 10,000 gallon tanker of Sprite that got replenished every two days and when ever someone else got near he’d walk right up and punch them in the face

What I expected putting up the feeder: Idyllic, harmonious nature scenes out my window Reality: WELCOME TO HELL MOTHERF*CKERS THIS IS A WARZONE. WHO DARES DRINK MY SUGARWATER? FEEL THE WRATH OF MY TINY WINGS Turns out Allen’s Hummers aren’t as much into harmony as they are literal dogfights 😂

Those guys don't give a shit. They'll chase finches and chickadees. Like if that guy was chasing rhinos and elephants out of there.

We used to call it the Hummingbird Smackdown. Those little suckers are mean as hell (but cute).

I recently started offering some small seed of some kind to the birds (instead of mixed berries, nuts, etc), and I don't know what they out in that, but the sparrows FIGHT each other for one of the 8 perches. Just straight up bird brawling, flapping, pecking.

I love watching all animals doing things like that, as when I wash my dishes the sink is at the kitchen window and I see all the birds fighting over seeds and bread
