Times weren’t better back then. You were just in your carefree youth and are missing that time now. We tend to claim that music, fashion, TV, and society peaked when you were in your teens. It’s not the world it’s you that you are melancholic about.
Some of our lives turned upside down from COVID, times were definitely better.
Reliable news reporting from when you were 10, makes sense.
If I think REALLY HARD I can think of more than five shows that hold up from my teens. A few from my twenties. TV got WAY better in my early 30s.

Yes. I was more carefree in my 20s. "It’s not the world it’s you that you are melancholic about" This, however is not necessarily the case. The environment is fucked. Hurricanes are worse. Gaza. Ukraine. Media in the US is waaaay consolidated. PNW didn't use to have "smoke season"! It's. Not. Me.
I don't really understand how this polling can even be conducted on a reasonable person If you asked me some of these it'd be "...well, except, maybe, you also have to consider..." Others it'd be "That's not really even an answerable question"
Society really did peak in the 90s though.
