I had a lovely exchange with my doctor when I was in concussion rehab years back. She had noted that my test scores were REALLY BAD for the timeline. Then she paused and asked, “do you have ADHD?” and the conversation suddenly turned into a mutual “it must be weird to be neurotypical”
(immediately jumping in with parentheses to over explain…) By “my doctor” I mean the specialist I was seeing, since my primary has known for a long time and prescribes my ADHD meds.
