I’ve experienced a lot of clueless race/culture stuff in yoga classes but today wins! Teacher included “Strange Fruit” on the jazz playlist, seemingly totally unaware of what the song is about, kept cuing through it and said, “isn’t the pace of this song just perfect for our practice.”

Sorry that happened to you, but if she's unaware of what the song's about, did you tell her after class? Some people really are just ignorant about certain things. I didn't know the meaning of that song until a few years ago. I don't even think I knew the song. I appreciated learning about it.
