My students: So wait, Ron DeSantis has worked hard to disenfranchise people convicted of felonies despite the will of the people who voted to return their voting rights, but he also says he'll vote for Trump even if he's convicted of 91 felonies? That's racist! Me: *packs up, goes home*

Those are the beautiful moments of teaching, when they start connecting those dots and you want to stand on a desk like you're Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society.
Wait til they hear how many of the same people who voted to reinfranchise felons also voted for DeSantis on the same ballot. 🫠
