It turns out I was eligible based on employers (they require employers to submit a form confirming you work(ed) there - all electronic). The actual problem on my end is although I've been out of grad school for almost 15 years and had been paying for more than 10 I was on an ineligible payment plan

Have you researched the new stuff Biden recently did, like in the last 18 months? I don't think I was ever on an eligible plan but they allowed a kind of backdating and I got all mine forgiven. I think it's called the SAVE plan. I really hope you're able to access forgiveness!!

I was on an extended repayment plan, which I originally signed up for because I was so broke out of grad school I needed the lowest payment and longest loans. My mistake was never updating this. To qualify for PSLF you need to be on an income-driven repayment plan. Switch right now if you can.
