A lot of existing customers apparently use the app without an account. They're going to force people to get an account, and accounts registered after the deadline are "new customers" regardless of when they bought the device.
It's amazing to me that someone would want a kitchen device (of all things) with an app that phones home. Phoning home for remote control functionality is so blatantly unnecessary, you know it was only included for planned enshittification purposes.
