It seems pretty likely that Elon Musk is about to engage on a rash of campaign finance law violations the likes of which we’ve never seen because he has calculated, likely correctly, that he will never face a consequence he can’t afford to pay.

Close up to the comet C2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-Atlas the 16/10/24. The comet's bright nucleus is visible on the right side, glowing intensely white, and it tapers off into a soft, elongated greenish tail stretching diagonally across the image. The tail has a smooth gradient, with subtle shifts in tone, suggesting the presence of different materials like gas and dust being expelled by the comet. The green color could indicate the presence of diatomic carbon (C2) or cyanogen, which are common in cometary comas and tails. The stars in the background are slightly streaked, which suggests that the camera was tracking the comet rather than the stars, leading to this motion blur effect on the stars. This technique is typical for capturing clear images of a comet that might otherwise move out of frame during a long exposure. There are also hints of faint details within the tail, possibly showing structures or variations in density, giving the tail a slightly textured look. So, I finally did it. After tentatively logging on here several months ago, I have just cut the umbilical cord with Twitter and deleted my account of 13 years. Thankfully, I’ve already found quite a lot of fellow escapees, so the new home & neighbourhood are already starting to feel more familiar.
