If there's such a thing as a survival kit for work, these three frameworks should be in it. It's less about the work, and more about how to think about the work. So no project can get the best of you. #personalgrowth#workhabits#productivity

Iâve been spending my vacation trying out plein art painting, and itâs a really nice way to just slow down and observe your surroundings. #pleinair#watercolor#gouache
One last link: migrainetrust.org for more resources and info on migraine management and the obligatory disclaimer that Iâm sharing from personal experience. Remember to take from this whatâs useful for you.
Science is, honestly, amazing. You wonât know what it can do for you until you ask and persevere. Whatever narratives youâve been told to learn to put up with the pain, youâre allowed, deserving of wanting better for yourself. It shouldnât even be a matter for debate.
The other reason is why Iâm basically sharing all this: please advocate for your quality of life, if youâre in a position where you have to put up with pain. Iâm aware that making it better is not always an option, but itâs important to find a doctor who believes you and is willing to work with you.
Iâm sharing this bit of context for two reasons: Emgality, which I just started, has been doing the best job at giving more good days within two weeks. And other than the uncomfortableness of it being a shot, itâs given me no side effects. I donât think I can put in words how amazing that is.
Testing out the treatment options can be crappy, and because health insurance still wants to save money, youâll need to have tried at least two before a doctor will offer you the CGRP monoclonal antibodies and it gets covered (at least in the EU).
For extra frustration: itâs common that youâll still get migraines, but itâs also likely they will be kinder or less frequent. Again, itâs a matter of luck and how your body works.
The frustrating part: whichever treatment option you get offered, youâll need at least 6 weeks to see if the med actually works for you. From my experience, 6 months to a year is a more realistic timeline, mostly because all of them need an accommodation period.
