If there's such a thing as a survival kit for work, these three frameworks should be in it. It's less about the work, and more about how to think about the work. So no project can get the best of you. #personalgrowth#workhabits#productivity

Three frameworks to get stuff done more easily with your team

Ask a person about their productivity, and they’ll tell you about using specific note taking techniques, time management or focusing on…

🎵 Strawberry anemone fields forever… 🎵

Countless neon-pink, flower-like strawberry anemones, Corynactis californica, blanket a rock in Monterey Bay.

I’ve been spending my vacation trying out plein art painting, and it’s a really nice way to just slow down and observe your surroundings. #pleinair#watercolor#gouache

One last link: migrainetrust.org for more resources and info on migraine management and the obligatory disclaimer that I’m sharing from personal experience. Remember to take from this what’s useful for you.

Science is, honestly, amazing. You won’t know what it can do for you until you ask and persevere. Whatever narratives you’ve been told to learn to put up with the pain, you’re allowed, deserving of wanting better for yourself. It shouldn’t even be a matter for debate.

The other reason is why I’m basically sharing all this: please advocate for your quality of life, if you’re in a position where you have to put up with pain. I’m aware that making it better is not always an option, but it’s important to find a doctor who believes you and is willing to work with you.

I’m sharing this bit of context for two reasons: Emgality, which I just started, has been doing the best job at giving more good days within two weeks. And other than the uncomfortableness of it being a shot, it’s given me no side effects. I don’t think I can put in words how amazing that is.

Testing out the treatment options can be crappy, and because health insurance still wants to save money, you’ll need to have tried at least two before a doctor will offer you the CGRP monoclonal antibodies and it gets covered (at least in the EU).

For extra frustration: it’s common that you’ll still get migraines, but it’s also likely they will be kinder or less frequent. Again, it’s a matter of luck and how your body works.

The frustrating part: whichever treatment option you get offered, you’ll need at least 6 weeks to see if the med actually works for you. From my experience, 6 months to a year is a more realistic timeline, mostly because all of them need an accommodation period.
