The aurora had faded into a soft north-horizon glow by about 8 PM (eastern time). To the naked eye it looked like light pollution to the north of me, but I've been staking out this location for days so I knew that the closest town (Medina Ohio) lights up the right side only 5/18
Lovely photo
I could see the glow for the next hour (8-9PM eastern). I'm an antsy photographer, more accustomed to chasing birds around than sitting patiently, but I was hoping for another bright substorm. I took a bunch of long-exposure shots-- there were so many planes flying around! 6/18
