I've felt that in my gut since before 2016, sooo much agitprop in a tone that would have been earlier considered utterly un-American, like ZeroHedge or a lot of Musk's rants. There were extremists like Rush Limbaugh but they were dumb rednecks and not weirdo conspiracy theorists and tankies.

used to not be respectable to defend Daily Stormer guy, or say it's worth watching people who say Hitler was misunderstood, or say Dems are criminals (kettle black much?) or post images of Kamala Harris as a Communist Satan, or compare her to Monica Lewinsky (was all on Bill anyway for grooming)
