Spire manages to balance humour and horror. For every grimdark fantasy Greggs or fun wedding for firearm-worshippers, there’s the elves taking out resident’s of a PC’s apartment block and shooting them in the street or Bioshock level ‘artist’ mutilating Drow, claiming to ‘improve’ them.

I‘ve been a Call of Cthulhu fan for years. Stealing Cthulhu was a revelation and Cthulhu Dark has brought some of the bleakest, strangest Lovecraftian horror games I’ve run. It’s the only place I’ve seen the open door safety tool used and rightfully so. I can’t wait to see what Cosmic Dark is like.
