In 1841, after armed Black men in Cincinnati defended themselves from white mobs, the city declared martial law, disarmed them & jailed all Black men. That night white mobs again attacked Black Cincinnati, destroying Black churches & houses, raping Black girls, & expelling Black women & kids.
