The mother of Sonya Massey called 911 asking for help for her daughter but told the dispatcher that she was worried police might hurt her, according to new recordings.
This is terribly sad
As people discuss what options should be available to people who need help, please note that "co-responder" models are supplements to, not alternatives to, police. In my opinion, a model worth skipping, in favor of building up true alternatives.
