Even if not a lot of people read it, I really enjoyed reporting it out. A big part of why I switched careers to journalism was frustration with how disabled protesters were covered in 2017. I felt like most non-disabled journalists didn’t get it, and that I could do it better.

Relatedly, a lot of the AP/Reuters/Big Media Company images don’t identify who’s in the photos. They just say “protester(s) with disabilities.” So if you were curious about who is in those photos and who they are, I’m glad I had another opportunity to fill in the blank.
