I’ve been at an R2 and now an R1, and like your experience the toxicity at the R1 is at least triple what it was at the R2. I’ve thought about returning to an R2 at some point, everyone was so chill.

I would like to see a graph of productivity vs some other things, like - resources afforded to the faculty member - perceived threat of job loss - level of extraneous BS piled on top of the "job"
