We are now in the *third* consecutive election in which a near-majority of Americans backs a Donald Trump espousing racist and fascist viewpoints and people broadly blame his Democratic opponent for it.
Oh look, here they are all replying in this thread to tell you how no really it's all the Democrat's fault. Incredible.
Yeah maybe the Democrats should actually run on popular things and not do this dumb "we need strong Republicans" bullshit. It's the responsibility of the Dems to beat the Republicans.
I think I may have been more depressed after Biden won in 2020 than when Hillary lost in 2016. I mean I saw what Trump was from the beginning, but I could not believe that 74+ million of my fellow Americans could have lived via 2016-2020 and still said, "Ya, that's my guy." It's soul sucking.

Be a voter. Find everything you need to vote in your state's next election.
The idea that we must never blame the voters is baked in to political analysis. I get that, but this election is about the voters, who all know what Trump is by now. It's been a decade. There is something deeply wrong with voters who crave more of it.
All 3 D's were proven public servants, highly capable, well within the mainstream of American policy and politics. History will marvel at Biden's achievements - and today's consumers would never buy his blue-ribbon economy. The People are ready to ditch democracy and try pot luck.
It's the weird "only democrats have agency" thing, and a left that believes there's a magical silent majority just like themselves that would lead to a landslide if the democrats were just more to the left. The first concept dominates the political press, the second dominates online.
Knee-jerk dem strategy to assume our candidate is handling things wrong. Also maybe polling is bad?
Wait sorry, Trump has never won more than 75 million votes. That isn't even 1/4th of Americans
