The head of infectious diseases of the area said to get rabies shots because it was during the day, unusual time for the bat to be active. I did, and was glad to, as I didn’t know if its hiss had gotten in my eyes for instance. Here in Canada the shot were free.

The bat had been put down, but saved for research, they tested it for rabies and nope, it was clear. So a double relief as I have cats and a dog. A kid died near here a few years ago from a bite, so I’m glad to be immunized now. I love bats though, and was so sad all this happened.
