How technical is the knowledge necessary to make a NES accurate Character Sprite? I want to participate in the trend, but tile based spritework is so puzzling to me
The higher-fidelity NES environments get the closer they look to Mega Man 5/6 environments. I'm pretty sure Mario had to beat up Knight Man before getting here, instead of the usual Bowser.
Amazing looking sprite work
optimized mario looks SO GOOD
Neat! Always interesting to see what you'll come up with. One minor quibble, this palette for Mario means part of his silhouette is lost blending with the background. With item box added, would he revert to small with one hit?
You failed not making this mockup spectacularly. Looks great
Everything about this is outstanding. You manage to optimize Mario so well... took me time to notice that it was not just the black color that changed. The only neck picking which i can think, is that Mario may be read without shoes. But it is so rare to see him barefoots, we know they are shoes
Bro, this slaps
I loved how you kept the black outlines in Peach, since she's static anyway and fits the black background!
