AI powered NPCs offer a completely different service than writers of dialogue trees can provide. If you prefer one over the other, that’s fine, but there is no reason to view it as an attack. 🤷

It‘s just a fact that writer‘s rooms in studios have already been reduced because of such implementations. With these tools, fewer writers can generate more output. Instead of bosses opting for higher quality writing „with AI“, they opt for cheaper content generation thanks to AI. That costs jobs.
