I had the luck to first hear it in 1980 when I was 11 from a revolutionarily awesome 6th grade teacher who read us some really important works, with due and full context. Along with Lord of the Flies, The Martian Chronicles, Tomorrow's Children, and ilk. I wish your intro had been in there then!
