Schools that provide safe spaces for anxious kids can help them overcome their anxieties about attending class. Needing to take a mental break shouldn't be religated to bathrooms. Everyone needs a safe space to take a mental time-out now and then.
I think the 2 things that more wealthy districts that have might explain why things are coming back faster to pre-pandemic times is access to mental health care and being able to convert a space on campus for Wellness.
Just to be clear. I don't think this is change in parental values. We are doing our best to accommodate our children as they adjust back (if they can) to what I think pre-pandemic expectations are for school attendance. Keeping safe at home was good.
