how the story is unravelling all the layers regarding what makes them such interesting rivals. and one of these layers is of course their coaches, but especially jun because we know so little of him that any scrap makes me desperate for more like i need to know everything that is up with him.
the slow burn development of their rivalry makes it all the more heightened when they face each other in competition, and by slow burn i mean the pieces we get as the story progresses and not how they see each other because there's no slow burn on their feelings and aspirations but more so (+)

as a rin fan is just so hard to get excited about anything anymore... i've dropped the manga, i won't watch the anime either. i'm too bitter and heartbroken to continue with this series in any form. but i imagine that for fans that still care and are aware of the writing issues it must be hard.
