Just in case the new people aren’t aware: Alt Text on your image uploads to BlueSky are really very important. Lots of people actively refuse to share your posts if they don’t have any Alt Text or if the Alt Text is poor. Make sure you give them a good text description!

I made some starter packs with artists who use alt txt. :) because it's something that's important to me. and yes I am one of those people who aren't sharing images without image description.
I do wish that Bluesky allowed people to edit/add alt text if they have forgotten. There is a setting you can enable that requires you add alt text before posting but nothing retroactively
On Tumblr, sometimes people share images with a description of the image in their reblog. That’s something that could be picked up here, too.
Thanks for letting me know! I am however still a bit worried about Alt text being used for scrapping for AI, as it is a form of self tagging the content of the images. Even so, accessibility goes before that.
