I struggled with the decision over the last few weeks, but I’m devastated to announce that I must cancel giving my Sagan Medal lecture at the AAS Division for Planetary Sciences (DPS) meeting next week because the event has not been made accessible to me.

Sorry to hear this, far too common these days. The Westworld-style "I don't see anything" blanking many people do when it comes to the COVID situation is equal parts creepy and disheartening. No more so when it comes from people whom you admired and respected.

Such a frustrating decision to have to make! I’m getting very tired of conferences and colleagues letting us down. Sending 💗 your way.

I’m crushed because I’ve daydreamed about receiving this award for years, and I deserve to celebrate and be recognized for my contributions to public communication in science.

I saw this on FB a few days ago and I hate this in a my former community could be responsible and accesible to all but somehow people keep making stands that makes it clear not all are welcome way. Your efforts have certainly been inclusionary and I strongly dislike that you have to take this stand.
