I love AVGN but I really think that he set up the entire internet for this failure that we're now in, he created such a clear example of how to use "outrage at videogame" to => lots of views. The outrage style works so well on the algorithm, and its easy to write comedy from frustration. But toxic.

James is actually a nice guy and the AVGN was always about ancient games nobody thinks about anymore anyways, so I don't think its bad or anything, but it was cloned by everybody and influenced so much of the current style. I know some youtubers know better and intentionally play dumb to rile up.
