i'm aroace & agree that its not inherently problematic. when it comes to fanon i prefer the character's depiction closely reflect canon but that's just me. some aspecs feel different, understandably. as long as there's no denial of canon & their identity is respected then i see no issue

honestly one of my consistent axes to grind is that a lot of critiques you could make about Viv's works - depictions of voodou, more mlm ships than wlw ships - are systemic problems across media and fandom. but Viv's vocal critics act like she's the only one doing these things.
