we all make fun of boomer's for being naive rubes but their success as a generation was exactly because they were so goddamn gullible and malleable, just a perfect generation of consumers following the rules of the system as it destroyed the future.

I think racism plays a larger role than naiveté. As the country 'browns,' the historical Republican power base is under threat. The rural boomer generation wants its all-white promised land, so much so they are willing to follow the GOP's current crop of grifters and conmen, no matter the cost.

like we've seen their facebook shares. "share this meme to support the troops" and they just share it, unquestionably. sorry to break it to you Thelma, but that share does nothing but generate clicks for a meme page. the troops are still dying in a war for oil.
