I mocked The USA Today when it came out for its oversimplifications and its use of dumbed-down infographics. I've since come to rely on it as the paper of record when citing news and opinion. It's perceived as nonpartisan and trustworthy in a time when those are in short supply.

Honestly it was the paper I read in high school and college and it trained me on how to read news critically. I think the easy access and digestibility helped a lot as I know I am not a smart person so I didn't feel intimidated reading it
