the only Star Wars movie i like is the making of documentary about the phantom menace. george lucas is a kind of blithering nude king, lacking in charisma but commanding a tremendous amount of fear and respect from his increasingly uneasy court, as they march down a doomed path. haunting and tragic
this is the best movie recommendation I've ever read
Endlessly quotable too.
I still think about the scene at the end where they've all watched the first cut and they clearly know it sucks and none of them can say anything cos they're waiting for George.
"jar jar is the key to all this..we just have to find a way to make him work" -words of a Mad King
nothing else in this series comes even slightly close to the feeling of dread this documentary instills in me. seeing everyones confidence slowly dwindle, ending at the perfect moment where a bunch of excited fans all in cosplay rush into the cinema on opening night.
