If there's one pattern in American politics I wish more people would recognize it's that Republicans keep either creating or bungling crises, Democrats keep getting called in to clean up their mess, and then Republicans complain they aren't fixing it fast enough

Everyone loves the critic

And, of course, Republicans break the various systems and guardrails while in power and then point to them and say “look, government doesn’t work, we should have even less of it”
