The first flickers of light are starting to get going on the UK NH season and some of the bigger yards are slowly but surely bringing out some of their better prospects!
Hopefully Havana Pursuit can cope with the heavy going at Ripon this afternoon and exploit his favourable current rating & win for his loyal syndicate. He's not the most resolute it would seem but the going might just slow the others down a bit!
Walbank is another outsider in the Portland who surely has a better chance than his odds suggest. Won in good time at Meydan over 6f on first start at Boughey after a break and comes into this off similar circs. He's definitely good place value with up to 6 places available!
My initial look at the Portland tmw points me to Get In. The Stewards Cup winner will be up with the pace and/or leading on what could be the favoured stands side. The better horses seem to be on that side so at 33/1 Paddy Power with 6 places he's a positive ew bet this evening!
