Lately I've been wanting to buy an mp3 player- not like an iPod but one thats basically a glorified USB drive with a headphone jack. I like and pay for Spotify but I would alsoove to save data and phone battery lol

you can upload music files from pc to YouTube music where it can be downloaded into that device and presented in a normal, nice format that isn't phone file browser. How you get the files is up to you tho...
