i keep making this point but it'd be amusing if not for the stakes how the institutional ideology of every major news network/paper is its not their job to inform you, the reader, what is real or not beyond the authenticity of quotes they publish
Expect you're on a tight time limit and your microphones are off when it's not your turn. "It's your job to fact check each other. " is the dumbest thing ever. 1st people aren't going to trust it coming from an opponent. 2nd CNN took away the took from the candidates to even do it.
CNN is a giant profit seeking entertainment and advertising corporation. We gave all of our power up to these types of outfits. A long time ago. I'm all for taking it back, but expecting these beasts to do journalism or democracy is dumb.
