We can dislike the Special Editions and still be touched by the end of “Ahsoka”. Lucas’s preferred versions can exist as “canon” alongside the historical theatrical editions. Every other movie series does this. Star Wars can do it too. #ReleaseTheOriginalTrilogy

It’s a shame we can’t recreate the original experience without fan preservations. #ReleaseTheOriginalTrilogy

"People will tell you that the success of Star Wars had nothing to do with its visual effects, and it was all down to its great story. But, I mean, clearly, that's not the case. It is indeed a great story, but it's also an incredible visual and aural experience.” - Christopher Nolan

Every month or so “All The Right Movies” posts this picture of George Lucas wearing the 97SE “BAD MOVIE” crew shirt & says it’s the New Yorker review of STAR WARS, & every time we had been trying to correct them. This month, the actual writer of the quote is trying. Let’s see what happens next time.

Tweet from All The Right Movies (@ATRightMovies):

GEORGE LUCAS filming The Phantom Menace in a t-shirt with the New Yorker's review of STAR WARS: "Comic-book characters, unbelievable story, no political or social commentary, lousy acting, preposterous dialogue, a ridiculously simplistic morality. In other words, a BAD MOVIE."

Tweet from John Seabrook (@jmseabrook):

This is wrong. It isn't a review. It's a precise of what an early audience thought of the film before the FX was added.

I should know, I wrote it in 1997.

One of the tiny changes made to the 19SE (Disney+) was filling in the black hole in the matte at Vader’s feet, which is visible in the original post.

I posted farewells to my active Twitter accounts and deactivated all my squatter accounts. The “X” update on iOS also removed “Promoted” from the ads, which is the last straw for me.

I want to touch the Dewback.

Screenshot of Diego Luna saying “I’ve always wanted to touch him, like, the texture of Jabba I something I need to discover.”
