Too big for a skeet, and BlueSky is terrible at threading, so here's my open letter to the "Genocide Joe" crowd:
Or he could do the morally correct thing and withhold any sort of support for Israel while it conducts Genocide or Ethnic Ceansing if that’s a more palatable a term. The US and NATO bombed Serbia for 90 days for Ethnically Cleansing Kosovars. The disparity in approach is jarring to say the least.
Precisely right.
Yup. You could skeet each paragraph... a CielBleu thread... to further enlighten the folk...
Life on BlueSky became so much more pleasant when I started blocking anyone who blames Biden for the actions of the IDF
Trump. Wants to. Jail. Pro-Palestinian. Demonstrators. After the fact. Biden is preferable to someone determined to track down all the demonstrators, jail the citizens, and deport non-citizens.
I think this ignores the significant leverage that the US has over Israel at the margins. The cost of the Gaza campaign has been huge, the economy is suffering, the coalition is already fractured, and if Likud can't pay the settler parties their bribes they may well defect.
Look I'll still be voting for Biden to stop Trump, but this is some serious (citation needed) stuff here, just absolute swiss cheese
Thank you! Well said. My block list has been going up recently just due to this. I blocked mutual over on mastodon. I've had enough of this crap myself.
What’s that you say, the Chief Diplomat of the United States has been Doing A Diplomacy to the maximum extent possible and ISN’T in fact also a global dictator who can wave his magic wand and instantly cause other countries’ leaders to do what he wants?
Why can Biden only use diplomatic leverage to "moderate" Israel's response? Why is it good to moderate Israel's response if they're not doing any "ACTUAL genocide" yet? Would Biden send weapons to any other country credibly accused of genocide?
