I like how, after referring to the Administration's accomplishments in the first paragraph (standard fare for public resignation letters), he seamlessly shifts into tooting his own horn in the second (less common, I think?).
Conversely, what does it say that Türkiye thinks it makes sense to give that much to the *Brooklyn Borough President*? I don't know if it's worse if they were somehow confused by the title or if they were patronizing many mid-level electeds in the hope one would one day be elected to higher office.
Also, even assuming there's some de minimis level of perk that's acceptable from constitutents (debatable at best), what possible legitimate purpose does accepting gifts or favors from the Turkish government or Turkish Airlines serve?
The broadcast just off-handedly mentioned Eddy Alvarez being a speed skater, like we all knew the story. I didn't. Turns out he is just the sixth athlete to medal in both the winter and summer Olympics and just the second athlete to play in MLB and medal in another sport, along with Jim Thorpe.
(But, alas, there won't be a post-game Mets Extra.)
Nothing is ever for certain with the Mets, so I'm taking nothing for granted, but I feel like I'm reliving my childhood listening to the Mets rally with Howie Rose on the radio feed.
I don't think I've ever heard a radio announcer that excited giving a sponsor read.
My 5 YO's third-most-favorite player did it instead! :)
