I lived in Alsace, France, I spent my teenage school years learning about that period of history in literature, art classes and history class, including very triggering videos of corpses and trains. I don't understand how people have such short term memory and it makes me very angry.

I also have the family history of a Grand Pa' who was forced to fight for Germany, because they took Alsace as part of Germany at some point. So, I have a personal connection, and personal stories from him too here. But even without personal history, hello, people, please open a History book?!?!

We already aggressively and actively ignore to the point we celebrate the genocides we've already done as a nation, so doing one more isn't that much of a leap.
