@calder12.bsky.social you were unable to read my private comments on Twitter apparently. LoL
It's super cool that we just let rich people decide all of our fates because capitalism is so awesome and has made life wonderful for everyone. Society never gets sick of doing the same idiotic shit in perpetuity because humans love accumulating shit we don't need.
Sam Altman’s vision for AI proliferation will require a lot more computation and the energy to power it. He admitted it at Davos, but he said we shouldn’t worry: an energy breakthrough was coming, and in the meantime we could just use “geoengineering as a stopgap.” That should set off alarm bells.
The OpenAI CEO expects the most marginalized to pay the price of his ambition
Look everyone, the S&P 500 and DJIA are doing great, it's a bull market and everyone should be happy. Also, tech companies have already laid off 9% of the staff they laid off in 2023 in only 25 days of 2024. Picking up the pace a bit. Just keep smiling!
So Tesla is down 56% from its peak share price on Nov 5th 2021. Elon Musk has probably lost over $200B from his peak net worth, and remains one of the richest 3 people on the planet. The absurdity of that can't be overstated.
So 5 former Team Canada Junior players from 2018 have now taken indefinite leaves of absence from their clubs. Cal Foote and Michael McLeod left NJD today. Alex Formenton left his Swiss club today. Carter Hart left PHI yesterday. Dillon Dube left CGY 2 days ago.
Expect the right to push this ignorant anti-climate change narrative increasingly. The fact humans began a number of the fires that raged out of control last summer isn't abnormal. Nobody thinks climate change *started* all of the fires. The issue is the forests are like kindling due to drought.
Just going to leave these here for the next time anyone mentions how *surprising* the drop off from David Kampf has been.
So, the main reason inflation is under control is because the absurd price gouging has slowed down. Which is why the economy seems "resilient" to economists. The inflation isn't caused by classic supply/demand concerns. Corporations can absorb higher interest rates because of their excess profit.
I grow increasingly tired of the Matthew Knies stans shitting on Holmberg getting an opportunity on the top line. Knies has played vastly more TOI in the top 6 so far in the NHL than Holmberg and produced considerably less. Knies *might* be good. Awesome. He is being out produced. Cope.
