I saw a video on TikTok last night of a reporter in the eye of the hurricane who was talking about how still the wind was & that he could hear the birds chirping. He stopped talking to let viewers hear the birds, and not two seconds later said, “and now I hear people doing donuts on the road.”

Reading this more carefully, I think the eyewitness mistook the huge number of electrical transformers exploding across the region as fireworks.
