Braverman is actually very smart, though, and I think will continue to be able to walk the line of *just* staying inside the walls of the Tory party (unless she decides it is in her own interest to be 'forced' into Reform). But, uh, not all of the Tory MPs on this circuit are!

Do you think the recent unrest / response to it will make MPs more or less likely to stray outside those walls? (More likely because more opportunities or less likely because they're seeing the personal consequences?)

I also wonder if the esteemed @lordbonkers.bsky.social is right to assume that's the inevitable path of the Tories - if the Matt Dathan article in the Times is correct, might they go for the more Starmerite options of Cleverly or Tugendhat over the Long-Bailey-esque ones?
